[Switchblade]

Nexus was my first Ultraman series; watched it back when we used to have Let's Watch Wednesday here. It was definitely an entry point... I tend to think of it like watching Amazons as your first exposure to Kamen Rider. I really liked it, but it was a huge culture shock when I started watching Max and all of the characters were nice to the protagonist.

Max is like it's OP: something so bright, shiny, and fun it can always brighten your day.

Yeah, after the drastic tonal shift that Nexus expressed, it sure was a nice back-to-basics show at the time. Which is probably why it's one of the shows I recommend for those who want to start watching Ultra shows.

Feels like it's been ages since I watched Omega even though it was only a 2 week break! I'm liking the direction of the finale a lot, between the human-oriented fight against the Zomera and the interesting way they have approached Sorato remembering his Space Gazer nature, where it's like he has a fused personality of Omega and Sorato and he doesn't know how to reconcile the difference. Everything feels pretty rushed, but it's about as good and endgame as I could hope for from the show.

The KSCT team doesn't even have a minute to process what happened to Sorato, the truth about the Space Gazers, or even "mourn" the loss of their friend...because Eldighemera is back. Only it's not Eldighemera, it's Eldighemera fused with Zovaras thanks to human experimentation into controlling Kaiju, resulting in the worst fusion of all time : ZOMERA THE ANNIHILATIVE PROLIFERATION KAIJU!!!!

Not only does Zomera still have the ability to absorb Kaiju, but it can also control them with Zovaras' power, as poor Demaaga finds out the hard way.

But don't worry, Ultraman Omega will save us! Only...this isn't a Kaiju extermination, this is a Kaiju assessment, and once that's done Omega just...flies off. Ouch.

Also, is it just me, or is Omega without amnesia stronger? It didn't feel like he was going all out and yet that Omega Slash felt wayyyyy stronger than his other ones have.

Well, the KSCT and NDF don't have much so they may as well just throw Eldighemera and Zovaras' respective weakness' at Zomera and hope that works. Which it doesn't, but points for trying. Zomera is basically like Godzilla swimming across the sea to destroy Japan and become the true King of Kaiju.

In fairness, even if Zomera was made by human hand (because humans can't help themselves), the Zovaras' part IS alien so you can kind of make that a technicality? Yes? Maybe?

Oh no, not Gomora! Whose Super Oscillation Wave gets hijacked into a Kaiju Call to control all Kaiju.

Kosei making one last plea to have Sorato help them...but Sorato is gone. There is only Omega, and Kosei and humanity's plight just is not his mission directive. And yet a part of him seems like he's struggling to remain as passive and apathetic as he is, especially when Kosei reminds him of all the great times they've had together, the times that gave Sorato his humanity.

KSCT doing what they do best: science research! And even if the world has given up on Ultraman Omega saving them, humanity is still doing all that they can. Even that little girl all the way back from episode 1 is showing compassion, Omega seeing for himself again why humanity has so much value.

Way to go Ayu with finding a weakness for Zomera! And Omega seems like he's having a big crisis of identity...

Honestly I want to applaud the radio people for sticking to the bitter end even during the possible Kaiju annihilation of the world.
