This article on the Re-Ignition line posits some potentially interesting implications.

Apparently, the Masks and the Auto-Morphin' Figures might be selling better than we've been giving them credit for, and that the Masks might be an indication that modern kids are in fact gravitating towards the old show. We "adults" in the fandom might need to reevaluate some things. As for the complaints about the Thunder Megazord helmet, there is also the idea that this could simply be a prototype. If true, it might look better...slightly... when the Thunderzords are actually available. |
