Forgive me if this is not allowed but I've noticed that this wasn't posted yet despite this being an upcoming toku-style production so I figured I would share. I am actually excited about this announcement and I look forward to see this toy line hit store shelves. However this does make me upset knowing that Hasbro pawned off Power Rangers to Playmates yet turn around and take up Super Sentai's anime cousin Beast King GoLion in the form of it's American counterpart.

Probably because they know they can stretch the molds for the majority of the lion limbs; at their simplest all they need are two different head molds (one for hands and one for feet) and then the core body. After that it's just the central Black Lion and you're good. As a Transformers fan, I'm well aware of how much they LOVE their mold repaints, retools, and engineering reuses (hello Kingdom Airazor).
Beyond that yeah it's pretty scummy, especially because of how badly retailers are treating the Playmates MMPR line now. |
