Post the Second!
For 6, he could spend any amount of time between dropping Mel off, having his own adventures in Big Finish, picking Mel up, and dying death by Rani. I'm going to guess around 1000 years due to him not looking so different, from what we see from McCoy in a wig. COuld be almost anything, though. (Total: 6310.) 7, again, has lots of Big Finish aventures I'm not aware of. However, due to his lack of a companion in the movie, plus his advanced age, probably puts him near the end of his life. This also sits with him just relaxing in his TARDIS, doing errands for the Time Lords instead of getting involved in adventures. I'm going to say 1200 years. (Total: 7510.) Eight, just due to the sheer amount of stuff (including around 800 years on Orbis, apparently, plus some time spent not aging in the Anti-Time World, plus attempting to avoid the Time War, plus looking very lightly older in Night of the Doctor, means I'm going to say the full 1300 years for him. Or more. I honestly don't know, Too much confusing time stuff. (Total: 8810) Nine has very little time without Rose in series (Before Rose and during that bit at the end of Rose is all I can think of.) However, due to him saying he's 900 in THe Empty Child and War being about 800, I'm going to say he's 100. (Total: 8910) Ten really didn't live long. He gives his age as 910 in The End of Time, which is merely 10 more than Nine. EVen taking the end of The End of Time, that's still not long, working out at 10 living 10 years. Maybe that's why he really didn't want to go- he was nearing the end of his regeneration cycle, and he'd used 0.8% of this bodies full lifetime. (Total: 8920) This means the Doctor is probably around 8920 in Deep Breath. Add on a year or two for time without Clara, and we get a total age of 8921... ish. Let's see how long it takes for people to pick massive glaring holes in this ![]() |

I don't think its right to assume each incarnation would live to the same age if they regenerated due to old age. He's the same man but the body is different, so different factors are going to vary how long the body can last.
I was quite happy with just "over 900", Matt Smith initially adding about 400 years onto that was annoying but bearable. But the whole Trenzalore thing was ridiculous. It was literally just a case of Moffat wanting his first Doctor to be the best. Not only was he the one to beat the regeneration count by fast forwarding things, but he was also the one that got to live the longest.

Well, the internet was right. It was the Master. FUUUUUUUU.... Although at least there wasn't an afterlife really. Just a giant Library save thingy. I wasn't liking th episode until then, and I'm still on the fence about it. Especially with that lava scene. It was, to me, freaking pointless.

Well holy shit. I was totally in denial about the internets theory but it turned out to be true all along. Sentai is gonna be here soon to say I told you so
![]() All in all it was a great episode. All the hints to them being Cybermen were obvious yet wonderfully handled.

Ugh. Sort of. I enjoyed the slow build up of the story and I miss that seriously in Doctor Who. Thankfully we were spared a number of Moffat tropes, but I expect we'll get a double-dose of them next week to make up for it. (Along with that really horrible effect of the Doctor falling.)
I was seriously hoping Missy would not be the Master for a couple of reasons. 1) It's such an obvious solution. 2) The 'boyfriend' line and the kissing and flirting. It was bad enough after the series three finale. The fanfic and tumblr crowds are going to lose their minds over it. I just don't feel that development is in keeping with the characters. Having said all of that, I think Michelle Gomez did beautifully in her role. She's amazing and can really sell even pretty terrible lines. She's got a nice subtly which can co-exist with a bit of chewing the scenery. Capaldi and Coleman were brilliant, as always, and I think the Doctor really showed the depth of character, despite the unpleasant turn Clara took in the beginning. Sadly, despite the wish-fulfilling pre-credits sequence, I know Moffat will bring Danny back as he sometimes struggles with actually killing anyone. I briefly liked the character moment when Danny refused to convince Clara of who he was, but it doesn't make up for being subjected to him otherwise. Overall, this was pretty restrained from Moffat so I expect everything to go off the rails next week with probably a big shiny reset button for the bow on top. This definitely wasn't the best or the worst of the series so far, but I think Gomez and the rest of the cast elevated a sort of run-the-mill episode into something more. Edit: I did greatly enjoy the Cybermen reveal. It was very well handled and suspenseful , despite knowing they were coming. I miss more of the slow burn elements of early Who and even some of the post-2005 two-parters. Also, watching the live stream for the past couple of series has slowly been turning me into a pudding brain because I'm kind of enjoying the bits of Strictly I see while waiting. ![]() Edit 2: Possibly controversial opinion ahead! Oddly, I don't have an issue with the Master being a woman this time out, but I still find it a little unsettling with the Doctor. I think because the Doctor very clearly gender-identifies as a male and I don't really see that changing, at least for internal story reasons. The Master, on the other hand, has always been a bit of a wild card and I could see him making the choice to be a woman as a further means to his/her goals. Of course, we have no idea how the character is back so perhaps it wasn't so much a decision as necessitated for other reasons. Still, I think it is a development that makes for more sense for the Master as opposed to the Doctor. Last edited by Thessair; 11-01-2014 at 04:22 PM.. |

![]() It's literally just the romance angle from a certain sect of fans/writers and the blatant push for the next Doctor to be female there's going to be. When Capaldi leaves its going to be stronger than ever.

Yeah, I agree. Hence why I'm still on the fence about it rather than the usual hatred I'd be ranting by now
