Finished building the Pioneer Kainar I got during my China trip:
![]() He isn't perfect, he's a bit fiddly and there's a few spots that make me quite nervous to move IE: the hip skirts and legs. Otherwise, the plastic quality feels quite good not quite on par with Bandai but pretty close. The important thing is that he doesn't feel like he's gonna snap in two at any given moment. |

I'm currently working on the Polar Lights Reissue of the Aurora Incredible Hulk. This thing is beefy. I know the PL version was up scaled from the original 1:12, but you don't realize how big that is until you actually handle the freaking thing.
![]() The large parts have made detail work very easy. He went together fast, the paint work was fast. Probably one of the easiest times I've ever had with a kit. Didn't have to do a whole lot paint wise either, he's an Aurora reissue/comic scenes kits, so I try to keep the colors pretty simple with those, and Hulk is fairly simple to begin with. Most extravagant thing I've done is a black wash on the hair, eyebrows, and toes. The only thing that's slowed the progression down is the base, which is pretty dang big. Lots of rocks and crevasses to work the brush around. I'm also taking my time because once I get a good coat of brown on the base, I'm going to do a lot of dry brushing and paint some individual rocks different colors to try and makes things look a bit more diverse. |
