But I do agree, IVs are pointlessly complicated and a 9-year-old could never figure them out. EVs maybe,but not IVs!

EV training is super easy.
A Pokemon can have a maximum of 510 EVs
Any given stat can have 252 (255 in past gens, Super Training caps at 252 now, though).
EVs are calculated by dividing the total number of EVs in any given stat by 4 (So, when training a Pokemon, always make sure the invested EVs are divisible by 4)

And that's all you really need to know. The rest comes down to how you want to handle it.
Even though the max is 510, 508 is the closest number that's divisible by 4, so maxing out a Pokemon's EVs will always yield 2 points that do nothing.

And who is Altair again? I'm thinking Altaria, but I could be wrong

Well I already knew that much, I just wanted to know how to incorporate Super Training into EV training! Though for the Mamoswine I want I will need low levels that give Attack EVs and Speed EVs and Basculin, Patrat and Lillipup (or similar EV-yielding mons) aren't available like they were in Black.

And yes, Altaïr is an Altaria.
