I wouldn't call the distrust in DC sudden, it's been happening for a while.

The problem is with David S. Goyer and Zach Snyder. They have control over the big three in one movie, only one of those characters has any established backstory in the universe and it was largely disliked and at best mixed. Anything, anything that goes wrong will be echoed in all connected movies, it doesn't matter if a standalone Wonder Woman movie has a completely different team, or if a Flash movie has a different team. Screwing up here is going to do a lot of damage.

This is a key difference Marvel has done differently. Look at something like The Incredible Hulk, it failed but it didn't do much harm nor was it a particular bad movie even. It certainly wasn't going to prevent people from seeing another Marvel film.
Having individuals films allows mistakes, having different directors and writers adds variety. They never risked screwing up multiple big name characters while laying groundwork.

And we're getting four characters handled by a team that missed the point of Superman.

I believe this is because WB lacks focus. Comics Alliance has an interesting article on the matter, but it boils down to Marvel Studios acting independently and taking more risks because they have to. You don't have people worrying about Disney films dealing with Captain America, or people unfamiliar with works questioning the ridiculousness of a talking animal in live action.

WB doesn't have that. WB has people that think Green Arrow and Green Lantern are the same person.

Having Bruce Timm write a Batman movie might not be a bad idea persay, but I consider him more of a animator than writer. Paul Dini wouldn't be a bad choice, but I still wouldn't have all the films written by one person.

I would want Gail Simone or Greg Rukka for Wonder Woman for example. Green Lantern would probably be the most complicated character to do because, well, Hal is pretty damn boring. He's most interesting when he's paired with Ollie, but trying to do origins for both might be too much. Granted, they don't have to use Hal but it might be hard to use anyone else without bringing him into the equation. Then again JL got away with it just fine.

The thing is, I would rather trust the entire movie universe to Bruce Timm and gang than Zack Snyder. DC proved to me with Jonah Hex that they have no idea how to make a freaking movie. When you cannot even make your COWBOY character into a good movie, there is a problem. It's not like there weren't 5000 westerns they could have just copied but put in the Hex characters. No, they had to go and make up their own plot (if that is what you can even call it) and give Hex all kinds of super powers for no reason.

Oh, and yes, I'm aware they want to keep the TV and movie universes separate, but that is a bad move. They could develop the universes so greatly on the TV and use the movies to be big events and stuff.

Bah. It's still the same kind of color muted garbage WB & DC pumped out for Man of Steel. Give these suits some reall color, don't be afraid of it, and they'll look great. That's a great Wonder Woman costume but even this "unfilitered" version is still washed out.

Wow guys, so judgmental on DC's plans just for Man of Steel. 'It'll be crap, It'll be crap, It'll be crap, It'll be crap," that's all I hear. You guys don't even consider the potinetal positives that these movies could hold. I'm holding out on an opinion until the movies come out and then decide to be judgmental as fuck.

Sorry, but Jonah Hex has destroyed any faith in DC I may have had when it comes to movies. Maybe in 10 years DC will start to care and have their own Iron Man type movie to kick off an entire line of movies that will eventually lead into a Justice League movie.

Until then, right now, DC movies are the equivalent of things like Fantastic Four, DareDevil, Ghost Rider, Hulk, and Elektra.

They have to prove to me otherwise first before I will look at a movie more positively.

Man of Steel was not that bad. In fact, it is my favorite Superman movie. It definitely has its problems, but so did the other Superman movies.

Green Lantern was not a bad movie. I would say that it's about on par with Superman II.

While I do think that the general skepticism is pretty well founded, this is taking it a bit too far.
