I only recently became aware of this mid-70s Toei tokusatsu, featuring a giant robot who helps out a kid against an evil supercomputer and his army of robots. Original, I know, but 17 ("One Seven") has a great design and the series is pretty insane. You can watch the dubbed movie version, Brain 17, right here via Youtube!

Believe it or not, 17 was also a part of the Shogun Warriors line! He was part of the 3" "Collector's Series" from the line. I am pretty sure that 17 is the only robot in the line who was based on a tokusatsu rather than an anime. In that sense he hangs out with both Godzilla and Rodan, albeit on a much smaller scale!
