[Hulkwillsmashu]

At work, we're having an Office Artist contest, and I've decided to participate. They've provided us with alot of different material to work with, and alot of stuff I didn't expect. Since I work for a cable company, they've provided us with alot of old cable boxes, remotes, cb's from the trucks, and various connection pieces. Anything cable related.

A couple guys pieced together a Wall-E looking robot, but I'm working on my own submission.

I've been working on this since sometime Friday, and returned to it today.
This is what I've built so far:




Figured I'd post it here, maybe you guys can give me some ideas. I've got a box full of old computer RAM, that I'm going to connect and form some sort of skeletal wings. I think I'm gonna use a metal hanger to form some sort of head, and then cover the whole thing with cardboard to make it more presentable. I'm definitely going for something Mazinger/ Sentai/ Gundam inspired. I'll also have to come up with some kind of name for it too.

Top prize is $30, but even if I don't win, its something cool looking that everyone will talk about

Hoping to start painting it on Monday. Definately going for a Mazinger feel with it.

I've got most of it done. Got to finish the head, then I start painting. I added an LED light inside the head from a broken lamp that my daughter threw across the room.

Hopefully start painting soon.

Another day, another update

Added the chest piece and started working on the wings. Not going to be able to do the skeletal wings I wanted to since it'll be too heavy on top and towards the back. It'll end up falling backwards. So I'm making the wings out of cardboard. At least it'll be more show accurate

Didn't have time to take a pic of my work today. I'm hoping to have everything finished by Wednesday.

Small update, took this pic before I left work today. Had to leave early to take my daughter to the doctor. Mazinger's gotten so big, that I have to stop it in our computer lab.

Had to make a new chest piece, the other one got bent to hell over the weekend. Figured it would be safe under the desk. I was wrong.

Pictured is the body, arms on the desk, and the wings, which are about a foot and a half long, each.

Almost finished. I'll probably put everything together tomorrow.
