NECA's 1st wave of Pacific Rim Action Figures arrived stateside last month and for those of you looking for more, have no fear! More are coming! MTV Geek has posted an exclusive interview with NECA, and they revealed new figures coming in future waves! Some interesting information was relayed...did you know that the upcoming 18 Inch Gipsy Danger is a nod to the old Shogun Warriors line from the 70's?! Some Kaiju are huge and would be too expensive to feature in the line, so NECA decided to create figures of Kaiju that were close to their targeted pricepoint. Series 2 will feature:

The battle damaged Gypsy Danger sounds cool, I normally prefer those variants to the originals. A mech looks its best when it's battered as fuck. Plus I want to get at least one monster from this line to go with my figures, as there is a huge lack of monster toys in my life. I just hope I actually like the film.

Hm, I think I'll wait for the battle damaged Gypsy Danger before getting that Jaeger. Because I'm interested in seeing how the deco looks plus it comes with a weapons unlike the wave 1 GD.

Seeing them in toy form so I can see them properly in detail made me realise that Gypsy Danger is like the most boring mecha designwise and that is the main one!
Crimson Typhoon is designed on what appears to be Four Arms and Striker Eureka is just awesome. Even if I don't end up liking the movie I almost want to buy these just because they are such cool designs. |

I think GD can afford to be more vanilla because it does so much cool stuff and has awesome hidden weapons and shit the NECA figure flat out ignores.

I guess that stuff is kinda hard to translate to a standard figure, at least the battle damaged one has weapons and hopefully something interesting added to the look.
