Good Smile's new line is venturing into the original series!
Just revealed at Wonderfest, but no information on features, price or release date thus far.

This could be cool.
However, the first entry in this line is already overpriced as hell. They sell a 7-inch plastic robot with some diecast for ¥16000+ ![]() Honestly speaking, just let Tamashii do Figuarts releases of Gridman, I’m fed up with GSC. |

Well, one thing is for sure... We'll see this before Evolution Toy comes out with their version. Theirs has been available for preorder forever, and they just keep updating to each current month for release.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they just rerelease the original 90's toys, but maybe give them some updates. The MiniPla is the best thing we have going for combined mecha modes. Ultra Act is still the best figure representation of classic Gridman. |

Would've preferred if they'd just done a Figma of it to be honest.

Seeing as what they did with the GSC SSSS Gridman, fuck no.
Hoping they just give us a model kit since Figure-Rise is suddenly interested in mecha Ultramen. If not, there's a china model kit of SSSS: Gridman coming out. Dunno the name but it exists. Or, I might as well buy the Figma. |

I'm pretty excited for a modern Thunder Gridman of a decent size. Here he is compared to the DX SSSS, Gridman he looks about an inch taller probably putting him around 9 inches tall. This is under the Hagane Works banner which means it's got some diecast content and is a finished product unlike the DX SSSS Gridman which was 80% toy 20% model kit.
While, I don't fully trust GSC with combiner toy engineering yet, the team who worked on the previous Hagane Works Demonbane did an excellent job on that toy and the Mazinkaiser they are releasing up for preorder soon is a downscaled version of the well-done Sentinel toy. Pricing for the Hangane Works has also been fair compared to their previous Max Gokin mecha line which was all sorts of crazy. In fact, the max gokin Dragonar released 7 years ago was like 95% plastic 8 inches and retailed for about $300 US. Overall, I have some faith Thunder Gridman will come out much better than their DX SSSS Gridman and I'll be following their twitter account to see the development of this guy. |

So, I stand corrected. Evolution Toy's version is now available and just watched a review.
It's really not worth the $250 asking price for it and the MiniPla looks better. So sticking with my UltraAct for my main Gridman Figure, and MiniPla for combined mecha. :/ |

Fully revealed at GSC's "THE GATTAI" event.
There's going to be a livestream in about 2 hours which might show more detail. Personally this is the best combining OG Gridman figure look-wise yet so I'm definitely interested. https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/1158377/ |

Wait, it comes with a fully articulated OG Gridman? Now I'm definitely interested assuming it's 1/12 scale.

Those gaps and assembly mistakes leads me to believe this is part of their Moderoid line. Fuck yeah! I don't need to spend 100$ on a decent classic Gridman!
