I like Don ZenkaiOh. Pretty fun to have a combination with last year's toy.
The gun is hideous, so much worse than the Geartlinger it isn't even funny. The sword looks cool though. |

I'm more sold on the series after looking at the toys. The DonBlaster just echoes the garish decor of the '90s in a manner similar to Ex-Aid, but without any of the charm. The visor/sunglasses-like detail is the only redeeming factor. Personally, I which Sentai would move away from gun toys, especially guns as henshin devices, but that's just me.
The Zangla Sword carries the same detailing, but expands on it in a manner which doesn't come across as dumb or lackadaisical. I look at Kiji Brother and see this figure falling over anytime a breeze enters a room! I'm half-curious as to why anyone at Toei or Bandai would see this as a good figure design given the obvious balance issues it's doomed to suffer from. It needs a stand as a general rule, unless the design is more nuanced and has a failsafe to compensate for the obviousness. I actually like the idea of a combination between two different series Mecha! It's not unlike Victory Mars using the Ginga No Hikari or GouraiSempujin Sword and Shield, with the difference being that it's not relegated to a single appearance in a special. They may be phasing-out regular Mecha Battles, but I suspect that this will appear intermittently given that it is a First Quarter release. We'll appreciate Mecha Battles more when they aren't as frequent. |

I still don't think Zenkaioh is a great looking toy, but Don Zenkaioh has less of the weird proportions that regular Zenkaioh has which makes it look better to me. Plus yeah, it's cool that there's some inter-series connectivity with Zenkaiger stuff.

I don't want anything to do with Zenkaiger. Hopefully there's a separate mecha later on that doesn't combine with anything Zenkaiger.

Well, according to rumor (thus far), Zenkaiser is going to be a recurring character. And since their mech do combine, I'm beginning to think that that rumor might have some weight to it.

Rumors also say DonBrothers don't feature traditional mecha battles, opting for something new instead, so I think Don ZenkaiOh might actually appear more during DonMomotaro's appearance in Zenkaiger than anything else.
But yeah, if you don't like Zenkaiger, watching DonBrothers in which Zenkaiser is confirmed to appear in some capacity and even gets a new form might not be for you. |

I think the mecha battles are gonna be a majority in CGI with the motion capture they used in Zenkiager for the first time. The video game theme and motif should help alleviate the visuals.
