The good ol' thrown off the cliff.
I would like to think Rcules actually cared for his two closest servants, seeing his reaction when revealed one had been dead all along. He deliberately threw the match so Gira could be king so he himself could go on some personal revenge against the Bugnarok. Still hoping he actually had some 'good' reason becoming a total jerk to everybody. |

New favorite episode? I think so! I've been increasingly excited to see the second duel between Gira and Racles since the conclusion of their first duel and it was totally worth the wait. The preview made it look kind of one-sided, with King Kuwagata-Ohger against Ohkuwagata-Ohger, but it was actually the latter who started the duel with that power-up, which makes sense considering Gira was still a fugitive so it was likely confiscated from him and returned to the official king. But this only shows how much stronger Gira has become. He struggled with regular Ohkuwagata-Ohger before, but now he's skilled enough to defeat King Ohkuwagata-Ohger. The fact that Racles even felt like he had to use it shows that he's scared of his little brother's power.
Gira's grown as a person as well. The first time he returned to Shugoddam, he went straight for Racles' head, but now Gira gets Racles lying almost defeated on the ground and offers to spare his life on the condition that he apologizes to everybody he's wronged. Gira remembers the good in Racles and wants to believe it's still there deep down. However, this mercy was a humiliation for Racles, so he refused, insisted on seeing the duel through until the end. It only gets worse for him from there, with the revelation that "Boshimar" was actually Kamejim all along, as many of us guessed (R.I.P. real Boshimar though, he was probably a good person), followed by Racles showing his true colors to the audience, that makes even Murray Bungles-whatever turn against him. I guess you could say this is the true start of King-Ohger, with the core 5 now officially being a team of full-fledged monarchs. Looking forward to seeing how Gira handles the heavy responsibility that comes with that title, which'll be the ultimate test of his leadership skills. Fortunately, his new friends (and big bro Kaguragi!) should be quite helpful in that department. An episode as awesome as this one easily makes up for any problems I have with the pacing, as Takano proves once more that he knows what he's doing with the executions, even though the road to get there can be a little bumpy. If King-Ohger runs on Tekken logic, then Gira's going to get thrown in a volcano next.

Worst episode yet! I can't believe King-Ohger ended like this! What a terrible show! Can't wait for the next Sentai in... Wait. We're nowhere near that? BLAST!
Anyway, 'twas a fun bit, but this all feels like Hiromi from Revice (though played better), and Gira trying to forgive him was the highlight of the episode for me, and it's things like this and Kamejim's revelation as a spy, makes me wonder if like the Dybowskis, the Bugnarok were undermining Shuggodom, or just what happened to Racles, because it feels like such an odd way to end him, drop and all. Also this show pulled off a twist that ruined my ultimate twist that Murv Burmbert Humberton XI was actually me all along. Still nice to see he became a "good guy." I still support King Racles. Next Episode: Bills, complaints from the people, bureaucracy... Welcome to the world of politics, Gira.
