And just like that you pressed my arguement button
![]() Now your example for the worst is actually my example for one of the best. It's why Murphey's transformation into SPD Red's Battilizer worked so well for me. I love when the Battilizer is part of something else and transformers into the armor. Instead of just dropping from thin air. And that is my favorite. I loved it was his motorcycle. Another favorite was Lost Galaxy. Mystic Force's.. I didn't care for. It was basically just a Super Mode. But Dino Thunder I loved. I love me some shoulder cannons like I love peanut butter filled donuts. And I love me some PB filled donuts. ![]() I thought Mystic Force was pretty sweet too, it was something that looked like a natural armor upgrade instead of weird parts poorly tacked on. It's probably the only one I'd consider to have a chance at rivaling the awesome Shogun Mode. ![]() I have a soft spot for the Time Force Red's Battlizer (but goodness not the Quantum Ranger's) ![]() Now, SPD's was very, very good, good enough to be part of Super Sentai! However, I found his silver, reflective thong seriously distracting, it just stood out in what was otherwise a cool design. What were they thinking?!? ![]()

I agree.I never called the functionality into question, just the look. You have to admit that lightspeed rescue just slapped half the motorcycle onto his back.As for the concept of the Battleizer, yeah I like it.The Spd one is one of my favs. And I agree with you that the Battliziers that transform from something, like SPD,are good. It's just the look of some of them that get to me.
Oh and as for Dino Thunder,I actually liked the look of it,and the cannons.I didnt like that he was basically Super Sentai Stretch Armstrong and had basically a yoyo finisher.(Nothing against Stretch Armstong or Sentai, just the combo)Which raises my question, just how exactly did he do those kicks and punches without breaking his legs or arms?lol I liked the LSR Battilzer for that reason. How else are you going to turn a Motorcycle into a Battilzer Armor ![]() Comic: Shogun doesn't count. Damn thing only left the Megazord once. But I agree with you about one thing. Mystic might've been more a Super Mode, but it was pretty. |

Anyone here knows who designed the Battlizers? Did PLEX do them?

Battlizers when done right are very cool. The single best one for me is the Samurai Shogun Mode, it is in a league of its own separate from all the others:

Plus...it doesn't help that Dekaranger/SPD isn't my favorite season (Ayumi Kinoshita is the only thing I like about it). |

Shogun Mode is probably the best one they ever did. Seeing that thing is just a win for win situation.

I'm kind of the opposite there. I think the bulky look for when they're in the zords is a little weird.

Looks like this thread gets resurrected every January. So in keeping with the trend...
![]() Favorite Team Suits: 1. Gingaman! I love these things. From the craggy helmets to the Charlie Brown tunics. Weird enough to be memorable, but still well within the classic sentai design parameters. They're great. (Sidenote: IMO, GingaBlue is the hottest ever Sentai dude.) 2. Dairanger - I don't think anyone's gonna argue with me here. Those helmets. Those tunics. If it weren't for the ugly badges, these would be #1. Just beautiful. 3. Maskman - These, to me, are the most classic Sentai uniforms. Sentai minimalism at its best. And yes, I am a fan of earrings on helmets (especially when they're also bombs). 4. Gokaiger - The best interpretation of a specific theme (pirates). They slam just enough pirate iconography into classic sentai aesthetics, and the result is magical. One of my favorite things is how GokaiSilver's helmet deviates from the others -- it's a piratey bandana complete with a knot in the back. Best use of a theme in all of Sentai. 5. Bioman - Man, I'm really a fan of suits where big blocks of white break up the main color. They're so experimental and odd, especially for an 80s show. The electronic circuitry on the chests are what really push these over the edge for me. Originally, I was going to put Hurricanger in this slot, but those suits are sort of too similar to Dairanger . The Bioman suits, on the other hand, are just too cool and idiosyncratic to ignore. Favorite Individual Suits: 1. King Ranger 2. Kiba Ranger 3. Dai Pink 4. Black Mask 5. Shinken Gold Favorite Extra Hero Suits: 1. Signalman 2. Zeek-Jeanne 3. Signalman 4. Daikenjin Zubaan 5. Signalman Other Awesome Designs That Might Not Count: 1. Nezirangers! So so so so cool. 2. Akibaranger. See above. 3. Shadow Jetman. Hot damn! What about everyone else? Last edited by Kamen Rider Lucha; 01-14-2014 at 02:54 PM.. |

Hmmm...
1) Go-Busters -Sleek and fit the military theme well, apart from the brightly coloured leather. 2) Megaranger -I don't know what it is, but they just appeal to me. 3) Dekaranger -The team numbers, the head-headlights, it all looks good to me. 4) Goraigers -I was going to put the Hurricanegers in here as well, but then I realised I love the dark colours and armour of these guys 5) Ohrangers -Especially the visor designs Favourite Individual Suits AbareKiller Dragon Ranger Geki Violet Gokai Christmas Go-On Silver Extra Heroes Bull Knight Signal Man Awesomely honourable mention: Akibarangers |

Top 5.
1) Zyuranger. I may not like MMPR that much, and I may have never seen Zyuranger, but these suits are just so iconic to any kid who grew up in the US or UK in the 90s. 2) Jetman. My first sentai that hadn't been adapted into Power Rangers and I just mean look at these guys, the suits are just so detailed and ahead of their time, they are awesome. 3) Magiranger. Love the colours, love the details and I really love how they tried something different. 4) Gekiranger. They are just awesome in how unique they feel, it also helps that they were adapted for Jungle Fury, my favourite Power Ranger show. 5) Goseiger. My favourite sentai team, and although I'm not all that hot on their Super Change, there is something about the refined detail and blend of new and old in their base design that I just adore. Individual. Time Fire as the Quantum Ranger is my all time favourite Ranger. The Thunder Rangers - they were just so damn cool looking. The Psycho Rangers - one of the coolest concepts in Power Rangers history, how come they've only ever been done once? They are just so, so, so cool looking. Blending classic Ranger design with nightmare monsters.

Teams
1. Gokaiger- A prime example of a suit design that had perfect aesthetics. The suits are simple in design (nothing but black spandex with matching color jacket and boots) but powerful and I love how the helmets had battle scars running down and the logo was placed perfectly on the suits and helmets. 2. GoGo V- They looked like life savers but in a strange way I love it and liked how the helmets each represented different rescue divisions 3. Magiranger- Loved the capes 4. Megaranger- Liked how the helmets inside represented a different kind of electronic for each member 5. Shinkenger- As I mentioned with Gokaiger, Shinkenger was in terms of suit aesthetics was very nice and liked the kanji on the helmets. Individual 1.Gokai Silver 2. Kyoryu Gold 3. Magi Shine 4. Go-On Wings 5. AbareBlack Last edited by Don Dogoier; 01-14-2014 at 03:48 PM.. |
