A brand new Garo project has been announced: GARO: The Inheritor of Steel

Quote:

Ryuuga Dogai, the Golden Knight Garo, has regained his golden glow and destroyed the evil plots of Horror.

An encounter with a mysterious knight clad in "steel" leads Ryuuga to the next test. Now, a story that approaches the origins of the protector begins!

Set to broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV starting January 2024.

Nice. Happy to see Garo back in a way that isn't a continuation of Versus Road. A bit concerned that there's no mention of Miki Nanri, but simultaneously relieved that Mashario Inoue has been busy with that web series he was doing.

Cool. Glad GARO is coming back. I remember that I wrote that the franchise was over, but I don’t consider myself wrong, because the pause was solid. It’s like saying in the 90s about the end of Kamen Rider: true then, but it turns out to be a mistake in the global perspective.

Jisariz, by the way, has a second season planned, so Inoue will have something to do.

Yeah i expect no one but Kuriyama Wataru to return. Maybe Nanri Miki as a cameo but not more (She reacted on X about the show announcement as if it was a surprise but it kinda felt like she knew already)

Jinga/Amiri definitely a no no IMO. Inoue is busy and Matsunoi Miyavi gave birth to twins last year and posts regularly on X how busy she is with the kids.

I was hoping for a new original Garo series, DMC style. The new Garo would take up handguns besides just a sword.

But it's nice to see Ryuga again. What new Makai Knights this time? Will there be any female ones too? Time for some of the Makai Priestesses to break the rules.

I'm excited about this. It's a little surprising that it's Ryuta and not Raiga but we get new Garo which is always a good thing in my book.

Unfortunately, I've barely seen anything from Garo (save for a couple of the original's episodes and Versus Road), so I won't be seeing this right away.

I really need to watch some Garo...
